Dr. Trattler completed his ophthalmology training at the University of Pennsylvania/Scheie Eye Institute in 1996. He spent a year in Dallas at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center as a Fellow specializing in corneal diseases and refractive surgery.

Dr. Trattler practices ophthalmology with his father and 14 other ophthalmologists at the Center for Excellence in Eye Care in Miami, Florida. He is also an instructor of University of Miami ophthalmology residents at the Miami Veterans Hospital.

Besides ophthalmology, Dr. Trattler has co-written the textbook Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculosly Simple, which is used by Medical, Osteopathic and Dental students.
