A board-certified ophthalmologist performing LASIK, PRK and CK surgeries, Dr. Goldstein has earned a reputation as an excellent physician and surgeon. A member of the New England Eye Center's Cornea, Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery departments, Dr. Goldstein has been invited to give numerous national and international presentations by prominent organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has published peer-reviewed articles on topics covering refractive surgery, cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and ocular microbiology. His primary research interests focus on how to better define the wound healing response of the cornea after refractive surgery, and he has received grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH) to further this work.
Dr. Goldstein earned his BA degree in Political Economy at Williams College before attending Northwestern University Medical School and the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Eye Institute. Prior to coming to the New England Eye Center, Dr. Goldstein was director of Refractive Surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
