I had my Lasik on 3/25/04. Before the Lasik, my vision was -6.75 on both eyes without an astigmatism. I have gone through a very painful recovering process and I could not even read my computer monitor for a month after the Lasik. I finally got to 20/30 vision with an astigmatism for both eyes after 3 and 1 half month. Why did Lasik cause an astigmatism? Is it worth to take the risk for another Lasik?

Thank you.
Sonia

It is not worth a risk of another surgery until the reason for your induced astigmatism is identified and it is determined that this can be corrected without inducing additional problems.

What is the diagnosis of your current surgeon? Why was the astigmatism induced? What is your current prescription? Have you received a wavefront diagnosis?

I had EPI Lasik performed on both eyes on 1/14/05. My vision was -3.00 on both eyes, with a small astigmatism on my left eye. It has been 11 days since my surgery, and my vision is still blurry. My doctor says my vision should improve day by day. I personally have not experienced any significant improvements.

My vision as of 1/24/05 was 20/70 (based on reading every letter on a single line correctly). I'm a +0.25 on my left eye and +0.00 on my right, BUT now I have -1.75 astigmatism on each eye. Based on my doctors suggestion, my vision will get better as the days go on.

I'm assuming that my vision is blurry due to the astigmatism.

Does this sound right?

Is my astigmatism going to fade away?

If not, are my astigmatisms correctable? With contacts, glasses, or Lasik?

Should I get a second opinion?

My doctor wants to see me in 4 to 6 weeks, but this seems like an eternity. I need comfort in knowing my options.

Thanks.
PB
