I had PRK surgery last week and was a -2 perscription. I have doubled and blurry vision. I went for my followup and I now have astigmatism in both eyes. What can be done to correct this without contacts or glasses. Will I need a corneal graft.

Astigmatism simply means that the cornea is not spherical, like the top of a ball, but is elliptical, like the back of a spoon. A corneal graft is not a recommend technique to resolve astigmatism.

It may be that enhancement surgery will resolve the astigmatism. It may be that the astigmatism is caused by swelling or epithelial cells that have not quite smooth yet and will resolve with healing. You are only two weeks postop. It can take closer to a month for the cells to regenerate, remodel, and smooth.

Another week has gone by and my vision is still doubled and blurry. My 2nd follow up is Wed. This is a long waiting game especially since I thought 72 hrs after the surgery I was going to have 20/20. At night sometimes it gets better for about an hour or so. Does this mean it is healing
