My son (6 years) has farsightedness and astigmatism. Since he was squinting his left eye occasionally, MRI of the optic nerve was done. MRI results are normal. I had to put atropine drops for 3 nights and 1 morning in his eyes for the second eye exam. It is one week since the eye exam but his vision is still blurred and now he has started squinting a lot. Will this subside ?
The doctor has suggested bifocal with the following prescription :
+0.50 +1.50 x 85
+0.25 +2.50 x 90
+3.00 Add OU Flat top 32 seg.
It is 2 months since his first glasses, should I change to bifocals so soon ? Will the doctor suggest lasik down the line ? Is it advisable for children ?
Thanks in advance,
Kishori
