I had wavefront custom lasix done about 1 year ago. Afterwards, My vision in both eyes were 20/20....albeit with a very slight blur in each. I went through the usual halos around lights at night and dry eyes...both which went away after a few months. In the next 3 months my right was still perfect better than 20/20 and with no dryness, blur or halos. My left eye however, had no halos or dryness but was still slightly blurry to which my doctor said i had a slight astigmatism. He told me to wait a few months to see if it would correct itself... well i have since missed a few appointments due to family issues (a few more months passed). Anyways the blur (astigmatism) has gotten worse slightly in my left eye. My questions is: Is there any touch/follow ups that can be done to correct this (besides wearing glasses/contacts)? and if so what are the risks? Is there a risk to develop scar tissue (or something like that) that could cause me to go blind if i can do a touch up or procedure again. I am about to go to another follow up visit in the next week and would like to know ahead of time what my options are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Getting a touch-up enhancement for minor refractive error due to induced astigmatism is fairly routine. At one year, relifting the flap may be more difficult, but in the hands of a skilled lasik enahancement surgeon, you should do just fine. Go in and get refracted and evaluated. It's not all that difficult.

my left eyes astigmatism is fluctuating too much and wants to wait 3 months to see if it stabilizes...he is worried my cornia(i think) is too weak??
anyway ill see what happens
597 thickness on left eye still is that enough???

Depending on your original script, the healing process can take a while, especially with induced astigmatism. 3 months is the absolute minimum. Doc's like to wait for your refractive error to be the exact same for 2 or even 3 successive months before considering enhancement. I would wait 6 months to be safe. The higher the orignal script, the longer you need to heal and should wait. 597 mm of total corneal thickness is a lot. If that's accurate, you should have plenty of cornea left for enhancement.

cause my cornia is too weak even though it is very thick. (suppose to be unusual case). hasnt gotten worse but was told that enhancement would/could make it worse
Kind of stressed by this news

sorry to hear. Can you still see OK though? Is the astigmastim in the dormant eye?

If you are unable to have further surgery, and your vision distresses you so much, then I would recommend looking into RGP contact lenses. They almost always result in vision that is as good as the best vision you can remember, and they can be made to be comfortable as well.

I had +1.00D of regular astigmatism fixed with and LRI...considered very safe (much safer then a flap relift).
6 Weeks later I am very happy with the improved vision from this 5 minute procedure...might want to ask your doc
regards,
dave

I read with great interest of your LRI treatment to fix +1 D of astig. Are you a lasik survivor and what was your exact prelasik script and stable post lasik script before the LRI? I was left with about +1 D of astig after H-lasik in both eyes and am coping OK with light script glasses but if LRI is permanent and accurate it could be just the ticket.
