I had Lasek on my right eye 6 weeks ago and now have astigmatism in that eye to such an extent that letters are almost doubled. At my initial consultation to evaluate me for suitability I had only taken out my soft contact lens the day before. The surgeon evaluated my eye and said that he would re-examine the eye before surgery as I would have had my soft contact out for more than 10 days. On the day of surgery he said it didn't matter about re-examining my eye because my prescription had been stable for a couple of years. Could the fact of taking the initial reading after only having the contact lens out a day have contributed to my astigmatism. If not what can cause it after Lasek? I had PRK in my left eye 13 years ago and didn't get any astigmatism.
