I have a pretty high prescription, an astimatism in both eyes and I dilate at 8mm. The doctor wants to use the S4 laser. He did explain that I am at a higher risk for a retouch and I may see halos at night.

The most you can expect from refractive surgery is the convenience of a reduced need for corrective lenses. To achieve that convenience, every patient must accept some risk. It appears that your risk is highly elevated at many different levels.
You need to ask yourself if the convenience of a reduced need for glasses/contacts is worth taking the elevated risk of long-term or possibly permament vision debilitation complications.

I wear contacts on the weekend -7.50 and -8. I would like to do without glasses or contacts all together. If I had to wear glasses part time, that would be ok.

Your glasses pescription would be -10 or therebouts. Then you have asigmastim to throw in. Your rather large pupils combined with severe(or even very severe) myopia definately puts you at risk of decreased night vision. Do you have any history of dry eyes? Also how thick are your corneas? If they arent thick enough you may not have enough for an enhancement or even a full correction. Have you heard about IOLs and clear lense extraction? Once again your big pupils may face decreased night vision. You will need to discuss your options(including IOLs) with your doctor and what risks you face due to your difficult pescription and factor in how much you want to improve your UCVA and if a reduction of glasses dependancy is worth the risks.
