I am scheduled for Lasik at the end of the month. I guess I am getting cold feet. I am really nervous about my level of astigmatism. My myopia is -3.75 and -4.75. My astigmatism is -3.75. According to my OD my pupils measured at 4 mm (not sure how he took this measurement) during my last exam. Is it dangerous to procede with this amount of astigamatism? Are my chances good that I will achieve at least 20/40? Will my healing period take longer because of my astigmatism? Thanks for your help!
Cynthia
P.S. The laser they are going to use on me is Technolas.

Dear Cynthia,
\
I too had very high astig in my left eye and to complicate matters that was also my lazy eye. I had Hperyopia, nad my astig was 6 in my left eye and a 2 in my right and I could see 20/50 in my right eye and 20/100 in my left. I had the procedure done in Oct and then 2 weeks later had another one done because they had to break down and treat my astig and then treat the farsightedness, I now have 20/25 in my right eye and 20/30 in my left and they only time I wear my glasses is to read, and they are over the counter reading glasses. I say check all your options and then make a decision it worked fro me and I couldn't be happier Hope this helps Tracy
