I had Lasik surgery last year July. The major problem after the surgery are starburst and dry eye, I also have minor halo, glare and ghosting.
The starburst problem just had a little bit improving in the first month, then no changes at all.Last time I went to doctor office to do my yearly follow up. Doctor want me to have a retreatment(No explaination what's wrong and how to fix it).So, my question is usually what cause starburst, how often it can be fixed and how to fix it. I definitely need a second opinion, so, could somebody give me a recommendation in NY/NJ area. Thank any reply.

The dry eye can contribute to both halos and starbursts. Starbursts tend to be caused by corneal swelling and flap edge healing issues, but there can be other factors. You may want to consider using the eye drops Alphagan P. These will constrict the size of your pupil and are often helpful for people who have LASIK induced night vision problems.

Before you have additional surgery that will attempt to resolve LASIK induced complications, you need to get a full understanding of what the doctor believes is wrong, what the doctor will do in an attempt to fix the problem, and the probability that your vision will improve after surgery.

A second opinion is probably a very good idea. Even if the second opinion is the same as your primary doctor’s, you will have the peace of mind of knowing your doctor is on the right path.

Thank your quick response!!!!
My doctor is pretty famous in NY/NJ area, and he also is a CRSQA certified doctor. I asked him serval times about my starburst problem, he didn't give me any explaination about it. He just want me to have a retreatment but don't tell me how to fix the problem.
I will according to your recommendation to find a doctor and let you know the result. Thanks a lot!!
