I too have a central island in my right eye and have had it since the original doctor offered me a "tune-up" about 3 years ago. It is my understanding that there is no surgical fix yet but I've been wearing a "soft-perm" lens that is rigid w/ a soft skirt & my vision is pretty good. I'll stick w/ the lens until they can all but guarantee a surgical fix. I don't have much cornea left.
