I had surgery in Jan. 2005. My vision before was 20/1300 nearsightedness and some astigmatism in both eyes. Now after the surgery my eyesight is 20/30 farsightedness in the right eye which I am very happy about but with my left eye I have 20/60 nearsightedness plus both eyes have a little astigmatism. I noticed a little bit of a double image right away in my left eye but thought it must be normal. My doctor wouldn't let me have glasses because he said my vision would possibly change and then they would not work. I thought this was a little strange because everytime I went in for a post-op my vision was basically the same. Now last time I went in for 3 month post-op he said I could get glasses. I picked them out and it took about a week to get them in. Last Wednesday I went and got them. As soon as I put them on I realized their was something funny but when I had such a high prescription it took a few days to get used to new glasses so I just didn't worry about it. I got out into the car and realized my left eye was not seeing as clearly as my right eye and closed my right eye to try and figure it out. By then we were on the highway and I looked up at the sign. It read Petersburg with a fainted but still clear Petersburg directly on top of the first real Petersburg. I thought that sign could NOT say that and opened my right eye. Then I saw the sign normal-just reading Petersburg! I closed my right eye and again two Petersburgs. I told my Dad and he immediately called the doctor. I didn't get to talk to him but I talked to the person who adjust the glasses. She assured me that it was probably the glasses and that she would talk to the doctor and try to get back in touch with me that day but might not get around to it until the next day. Now it has been 3 days and she has not gotten back in touch with me. I have noticed since then that it is not only when I have my glasses on but anytime I look out of just my left eye. When I see with both eyes I can see fine except for the nearsightedness and farsightedness. I don't know what to do. I don't like wearing the glasses because it makes the double vision worse so that I can see double somewhat when I am looking out of both eyes. Can anything be done to fix it?
