I got the lasik procedure done on both my eyes on 3rd june 2005. My vision stabilised in about 3 days and it has been the same ever since.
I have slight halos when seeing in the night.

Also my left eye vision seems very crisp, but the right eye vision is not that great, there is slight blur. Also there is some double vision in the case of my right eye.

The power i was corrected for is as follows

left eye : -4.26 spherical and -2.38 cylindrical 10 deg axis

right eye: -4.45 spherical and -3.06 cylindrical
170 deg axis.

this was some average power information given in the wavefront scan report other than the scan images.

now after 15 days i have very good clear vision in my left eye but with my right eye i have two problems.

1. the right eye has slight double vision and the distance of the ghost image from the original image increases as i move away from it.

Also this ghost image strenght increases if seeing a bright object in a relatively dark background.

2. The level of light perceived in the right eye seems slighty (hardly noticable) less that in my right eye.

I feel that the blur in the right eye is due to the double vision - is that possible ... or is it under-correction/irregular astigmatism.

Also during the procedure ... after the suction ring was put and the flap was made i had a brief period of blindness in the right eye and left eye ... after which i was asked to look at the red light .... in the case of the right eye i was not able to keep my eye still as i was able to with my left eye - as i felt that the light was moving in the case of my right eye when looking at the light.

the procedure was performed using Bausch & Lombs Zyoptix - 100.

The doctor has scheduled an appointment only after 1 month ( he saw me the next day after the procedure)

Should i go back and check with him before that.

What are the possible causes

and the possible remidies

thanks

Gopal

Gopal,

What you describe could be the normal healing process for someone who started with a significant amount of astigmatism, but you should report your difficulties to your doctor and be evaluated.

It would appear that your problems relate to residual astigmatism in your right eye. The poor vision effects may be worse in low light environments, but be less in brightly lit environments.

Astigmatism can be caused or exacerbated by LASIK induced dry eyes. If you are not already, I suggest you use preservative free eye drops available at your local drug store to see if you realize some improvement. You cannot apply too many of these drops.

i am using some lubricant drops on my eyes ( 4 times a day) ... and the doctor says that it will be atleast a month after the procedure before he can comment anything about it and he has asked me to wait patiently till then.

shall post any developments in this forum - hope the vision in both my eyes becomes 20/20 .... ( crossing my fingers)
