I had lasik surgery about six months ago and was assured by the doctor that having cataracts was not a problem. Since then I have read and been told that most doctors recommend against lasik when a person has cataracts. Does anyone have feedback for me on both that and the fact that I had numerous cases of uveitis in my 20s through 40s (I'm now 66). I also questioned the doctor about that...My vision has been very blurry and has improved only slightly. I'm concerned about having paid all of this money and have more, rather than less, impaired vision.

Theres no point getting lasik if someone has cateracts because their vision would still be impaired due to cateracts. The cateracts would need to be removed and the approperate IOLs inserted in its place. This will also take care of any refractive error.
