Can anyone recommend a good Lasik doctor
who has extensive experience with severe dry
eyes?
I had an appt. with Dr. Vincent deLuise, MD.
but he is not seeing patients for a couple of
months.
I have severe dry eyes (not enough tears,
blocked oil glands and this is with two punctal
plugs).
I've had a consultation with Dr. Barry Chaiken,
MD. in NYC so I know I'm a good candidate,
but I'd like to find a surgeon who specifically
has experience with dry eyes (and is more
reasonably priced).

I'D LIKE TO FIND A "DRY EYE" SPECIALIST TOO. I HAD LASIK AND ALTHOUGH I HAD EXTREME DRY EYE, THE DOCTOR DID PLUGS IN THE UPPER AND LOWER TEAR DUCTS AND SAID I WAS A GOOD CANDIDATE. THAT WAS 8 MONTHS AGO AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE. I SAW THE DOCTOR THIS MORNING AND HE'S NOT SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. I'VE SEEN TWO OTHER DOCTORS AND THEY DON'T HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS. I'M DOING ARTIFICIAL TEARS EVERY HOUR, GELS TWICE A DAY AND RESTASIS AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. IT IS A GIVEN THAT LASIK WILL MAKE THE DRY EYES WORSE. HAVE YOU CONSIDERED NOT HAVING LASIK. I WISH I COULD HAVE MY "OLD CORNEA" AND GLASSES BACK. I HAD NEVER WORN BI-FOCALS AND A WEEK AFTER THE SURGERY THEY GAVE ME A PRESCRIPTION FOR BI-FOCALS.
