Had CustomCornea on 9/22.L.eye -2.5 R.eye -4.75 with some astig.don't have the specs.Post op day 1 L.eye was 20/15 no problems.R.eye variable but tested 20/20 on Snellen(sqinted to make it).At 2 weeks went in unscheduled,worried about regressing vision in R.eye and possible infection.Complete exam,no infection.Mild Blepharitis.I asked about the regression in R.eye acuity.They did a thorough exam,(which is better,1 or 2?).Dr.said I was plano,less than half a diopter,not to worry.Near vision is good.Distant vision has a slight double image at the 5 o'clock position.When I wet it I have sharp vision for a short while.
Went in on 10/24 for the 1 month exam.during the manifest refrac.(1 or 2?)I had some blurriness in R.eye.The tech was able to take it to a very crisp image with some work.I suspect that it was with some correction for slight astigmatism as it eliminated the ghost image.Apparently my acuity is good when I can eliminate the ghost image.Using the Snellen chart on the wall the L.eye was 20/15 and R.eye was able to see 20/40 and only some of the 20/30 line. The Dr. said that my R.eye was variable 20/20 to 20/15 probably due to dryness that I had been dealing with.I never thought the R.eye was even close to 20/20 so I was surprised. He said he'd see me in a -year-for my next visit.Should I be patient and let the healing period run its course? I can see just fine L.eye but the R.eye has a way to go.I have considered seeing my regular optometrist to see if he can correct this problem with a lens.Would this have a negative effect on the healing process?

Wearing glasses after refractive surgery to resolve refractive error will not slow or harm the healing process. Wearing contact lenses may interfere, but can be appropriate with doctor approval.
The symptoms you describe are consistent with the normal healing process. The reported LASIK induced temporary dry eye could cause all these symptoms, as could normal edema (swelling) after surgery. You may want to read http://www.complicatedeyes.org/dry_eye_treatment.htm
Report any sudden changes or loss of vision quality to your doctor, keep your appointments, treat your dry eye, and expect that all will resolve within the normal six month healing period.
