Hi ,
I had custom lasik done on Oct 31 ,2005 .I had high myopia of -8.5 diopter with -1 astigmatism.

After the treatment , i have been consitently having 20/20 vision in the right eye with no complications .

But my left eye has glares and protuding hazy (double vision) vison when seeing bright lights.
I also suspect that i might have been under corrected in my left eye .But my doctor is refusing to test each eye (snellen chart) individually and says ,i have 6/6 with both eyes.
I am also having trouble looking at my monitor with the visual clarity that i had prior to the procedure.

Is there any chance of vision improvement in my left eye or does the vision remain the same after 2 weeks post op.This is essentails beacuse i have trouble in looking at my monitor with proper clarity ( i have to sit in of the Comp for 8 hrs )

It has been only 17 days after the treatment.

Thanks and would be much assured if somebody can reply to this
Note : I have not any major dry eye complaints .

Hi Kris,

I had lasik in June, and I think I may have had a very similiar situation in my left eye. When ever looking directly at lights I would see kind of a haziness around them. Not sure if it was considered glare, or halos, but it was strange. This only happened in my left eye, and subsided at about 5 weeks post-op. Also, your vision can DEFINITELY change after 2 weeks. Most docs have told me that it should stabilize by about 3 months, sometimes it takes 6. I still have vision fluctutations in my eyes, but I also still have dry eye issues which I believe causes them. Hope this helps ease your mind a bit, and good luck with your recovery!

Michelle

Kris, the first poster gave you good advice. I had lasik as a high myope several years ago. From that, I can tell you that 17 days out if VERY early. With a large minus correction, there is lots of healing to do and it takes time. Be sure and mention your concerns to your doctor, however. If you do not heal to your expectations, tell him that too. Just make sure s/he has clear communication from you and takes it seriously. Your eye(s) can fluxuate back and forth a little for some time. I came out at OS -.25 and a year or so later had regressed to -2.50. Take enough time if you think you need an enhancement. I never considered an enhancement due to dry eyes. Be sure and get enough rest.

Thanks Michelle,

For the post ...I was wondering if it was a kind of a unique symptom that i was experiencing.

I still have the hazy /cloudy vision as if i am seeing through a fog ...but hopefully it would go away.(The same that you described, Though i have clear vsion in bright daylight, the fog over the left eye comes when i see the monitior or if i am in a low contrast light situation asn i can clearly make it out when i close one eye and see through the other).

But i am still hopeful that it would go away...

Hi Kris,

Yes, I thought it might be rare as well, since it does not fit into the normal "glare" at night that I read about. Yes, in bright sunlight things were usually perfect...it was only when I was looking directly at a light or a window or computer screen or something if the area around it was not as bright. So, a window in a dimly lit room or something like that. Anyway, I would still definitely bring this all up at your post-op visits, but hopefully your doc will tell you all is well! Good luck!

-Michelle
