Initially I thought that lasik induced dry eye was due to the nerves that were severed when creating the flap. However, I have since heard that having higher myopia puts you at a higher risk for slow healing dry eye or even permanent dry eye. Is this true? I've heard it is because the higher the myopia, the more corneal tissues that is removed, and therefore the more nerves destroyed. Are these nerves actually destroyed for good with no chance of healing back? My prescription was -6.00, but at 7 months post-op, I'm still not producing enough tears. I was just curious if there is any truth to this. Thanks!

Michelle
