I had Intralase/ Lasik on 10/13/05, so I'm coming up on
my 6 month check-up. I've had moderate to severe dry eye
ever since the surgery. Permanant punctal plugs put in
around Thanksgiving. Pretty much use Systane drops per
Dr's recomendation anywhere from 4-12 times per day. A
couple of weeks ago, I want about a week only using the
drops once or twice a day. Lately, I feel like I'm one week
post op. My eyes have been extremely dry, and I've noticed
more night glare/halos then ever before. I have to admit,
I've been really hoping the 6 month mark would be the end
to all of the evil side effects of Lasik. Like many on this
board I'm begining to regret my decision to have Lasik. As
much of a hassle contacts were, at least I could take them
out at the end of the day and make my eyes feel better.

Yeah, I am not very confident that 6 monthes later my eyes will feel any better. I suppose I am lucky because one of my eyes actually came out almost perfect, but the other one is always blurry and painful. I told the docs the day after my surgery that this eye was not right, but they just keep telling me to give it time. Right now I do regret having lasik done.

I'm in the DC area as well and had my surgery done 10/7/05. I'm still having problems with dry eye. I started using Nutratear, Dakrina and Dwelle and it's really helped and cut down on the amount that I use daily. Before using them, I found myself using up to 10-12 vials of artificial tears a day. Now I just use a combo of the above 3 2-3 times a day. Normally, I use either Dakrina or NutraTear in the morning, one of the two in the afternoon and the Dwelle at night.
