I had Lasik in May 05 (9 months ago) and have suffered red, irritated eyes ever since. Even when they don't feel dry they are very red. My eye dr. has had me try most everything, including the temporary plugs. I tried the permanent plugs but due to the way my ducts are shaped they rubbed against my eyes and irritated them worse. He suggested cauterizing my tear ducts which sounds painful and dangerous, and from what I understand may not help anyway. The temporary plugs did not. I had been on restasis but that actually seemed to make my eyes worse. I am at a total loss. I was informed that I might have dry eye after Lasik surgery but they told me it goes away after a couple months, 6 months tops. I can't afford any more surgeries or treatments anyway; I am still paying off my Lasik.

Kathy:

I have been suffering painful dry eyes since my lasik surgery 6 months ago. I am till dealing with the problem.

Redness in your eyes indicates inflamation. Initially, I had very red and irritated eyes. I look like a monster. I try to drink a lot of water, taking hydro eye. doing excercise regularly. Our body needs to get stronger to defense these inflamation.

Started one month ago, my red eyes get improved. Most of time, they are white unless I work in front of the computer for a long time.

I hope my dry eye problem will get improved over time.
