When I contacted the owner of the clinic who did my treatment I told him that I had been looking on the intranet and that it had scared me a little. He told me not to look!
Anyway it would be nice to hear some recovery stories and good news so if anyone can post their good experiences that would be beneficial. Probably people stop looking on the site when their condition clears up but it would help people who are losing hope if they knew that often it does clear up.
I find it has beeen a real source of support to find other people going through what I am going through.

Just read, read, read before you do the surgery. Your doctor is going to try to paint a rosey picture, but you need to be aware of your risks and there are lots of them. I'm happy with my surgery for the most part, but I still have dry eye and have to use alot of artificial tears.

reguardless of what any doctor or anyone says, everyone should research lasik on the internet and inform yourself of the pros vs. cons and all the risks.

Thanks guys but my point is that I have had laser surgery 5 months ago and I am still having problems with dry eyes. I would just like to hear some hopeful stories of people who have come out the other side of dry eye and are now enjoying the benefits of their new vision.Especially after 5 months! Sometimes this forum, although useful, can be a bit depressing!

Hi ALI
My vision has been generally OK since the epi lasek surgery. I did have some blurry days but now it is fine. My main problem is dry eyes and if you have not experienced that just thank God! I am sure your vision will stabilise but I know how worrying the whole experience can be. Chin up! ( As we say in the UK)

Well, my left eye has regressed to 20/20 from 20/15. I was 20/15 just 3 days after surgery. My left eye does not have very good contrast. The good news is my overall vision is 20/15 and my vision cleared up tremendously from month 3 through 5. Especially towards the 5th month. My dry eyes have gotten significantly better. I was going thorugh 10+ vials of artificial tears a day. That's vials, not 10 times a day. I got 2 to 3 uses out of 1 vial. Now I'm down to just using the tears about 3 to 5 times a day. I just reached my 5 month mark. All of my starbursts and halos are gone as well. That's my pick me up:)

This chart doesn't seem correct. I can see the smallest line perfectly clear from 4 feet away. I can actually see it fairly clear from 6 feet away. The 2nd smallest line is extremely easy to read from 7 feet away.

whats your vision? the 2nd to last line is only easy to read if you have 20/20 or better.
Try reading the bottom line from 7 feet away.

Hi
I was just wondering id halos and glares are due to dry eyes. Its been 10 months since I got my Lasik done but still have dry eyes and haloes and glares.
Also do dry eyes give a foreign body particle sensation in the eye and pain in the eye?
Is it safe to use artificial tears every hour?

My vision is 20/15 in my left eye and 20/20 in my right. I use drops every 1-2 hours weather my eyes feel dry or not, I figure it is best to stay ahead of any problems. Overall I do not feel I have any major problems with dry eyes. I feel as though I have less issues now than a few days after surgery. I still have slight halos around trafic lights and some street lights, but not headlights. I do not find the halos to be overly distracting. They are probably not as major as some have experienced. Bottom line for me is, as of today I feel having lasik is one of the best decisions I have made. It took me over two years of debate before I finally decided to do it. This borad provided lots of great imformation during that time, but also the fear from some of the horor stories probably made me wait longer to have the surgery than I should have. Its been a month and I still sometimes find myself just looking around amazed at how clear everything is.
