is there a standard operating procedure for lasik or do doctors worldwide just perform the op in many diff ways i wonder... asked my doc before hand abt having a vertical flap against a horizontal flap but he said only pple with dry eyes needed it and i din't have dry eyes... even tested me on hte schirmer's and score was abt 10-18?
anyway stil having post lasik dryness at the 5th to 6th mth and having tired eyes frequently especially so when there's even a bit of wind or aircon it'll affect my eyes causing it to be dry. i wonder why some pple have dry eyes for a short period of time and some others have it forever after lasik. that brings me back to the paragraph above on sop.
recently instilled temp punctal plugs in my lower eyelid but it wasn't giving me any relief at all... noticed that the dry eye is from the exterior sides of mine eyes and its a piercing burning type of sensation and its sudden onset can be on either eye or both. instead of providing me relief the plugs have actually caused my eye to get irritated like that there's something stuck in my inner side of my left eye... i don't know why and its becoming real itchy at times and sometimes when i blink and look at light sources at nite it becomes blurry wonder if there's too much tears on the inside of my eye. can it be removed or can it be irrigated tottaly and be rid of any remaining particles of the temp plugs? looks like they are made of plastic. at one time it was so scratchy i rubbed till it became so red... i tot it was my lacri lube ointment causing the allergy ... prev i din't have any probs with my lacri lube ointment n now i have a lumpy growth on the inside of my left lower eye lid too... compared it with my right side and there was really a slight diff as in there was a lump a small one thought not that obvious.

oh yes does lasik really depend on the skillsets of the docs? and do docs have to go thru some special training in order to get certified

oh yes and if punctal plug s in my lower duct do not help with the dry eyes then will upper ones likely TO help? or not? coz the dryness comes frm the exterior so tot since the upper ducts are at the exterior edge... still ponderiong
