"Second enhancement recommendation?"

My pre-lasik prescription was: left -5.25 and right -5.50. After the first procedure, my right eye was corrected to 20/20, but the left was over corrected to +1.00.

I had trouble with the difference, even after trying glasses to correct the left. So, after my dry eye symptoms cleared and vision stablized at +1.00, I had an enhancement done on the left. Now that eye is -.75 and the difference in my quality of vision seems worse than it was with +1.0.

Is a second enhancement a good recommendation? Outside of cornea thickness, what other factors should I consider? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Wow, you have the exact pre and post op results that I had, and I mean down to the diopter - it's scarry.

I am at 6 weeks (48yo/male), +1 over and have pretty crummy near vision (within 4-5 feet). My good eye is 20/15 and I can read fairly well with just this eye at 2 feet. Now, I live with reading glasses around my neck to survive. My doctor has mentioned CK on my overcorrected eye or that it may still regress (beyond 6 weeks post-op) to near normal...so far it has hung around +1 since but he insists that it probally will regress more - during the second and even third month.

How are things going with you since your enhancement, still unsatisfactory - any suggestions that I may use.

Thanks and good luck with your recovery.

Dave

you got lasik and were overcorrected. Now your first enhancement undercorrected it. you now want a 2nd enhancement and a third and on so? You wont have enough cornea left plus your just going back and forth. Stop here. a slight undercorrection is a blessing for near vision
