I just wanted to know what people's experience with enhancements have been. How long did you wait after initial surgery and what was the outcome? Were you satisfied? I'm considering getting an enhancement but am terrified of the horror stories of my vision becoming worse off than before. Any input would be appreciated.

First, some background..
Before Lasik, my eyeglasses rx was -5.00 in each eye with no astigmatism. My vision with glasses was perfect. I am 29 years old.
Had wavefront lasik done on Sept. 7/05. I was able to see 20/15 the very next day, but within a week, had regressed...the regression had stablilized at 1 mo. post op to -0.75 left eye, and -1.5 right eye. I had absolutely no side effects from the procedure at that point, other than dry eye.
Had an enhancement procedure on Jan. 26/06. My surgeon re-lifted the flap...in terms of comfort during and after the procedure, this was WAY better than the first time since there was no need for the suction ring to hold my eyeball still...this eliminated the brutally red eyes I had the first time...plus, no scratchy-eye feeling afterwards.
Results: both 1-day and 1-week post-op, I am still reading 20/15 on the eye chart. I am using artificial tears every 15 minutes (Bion tears and Systane...whichever one I have handy). At night, I wake up about 4hours into my sleep to put artificial tears in. For the first 5 days afterwards, I wore sunglasses 24/7 due to light-sensitivity...without this, I would have had much worse eye-strain and headaches. I also needed Extra-strength Tylenol (TES) and Advil 4 times a day for headache and eye-strain discomfort (don't do this unless you check with your doctor/pharmacist). I am now only taking the TES maybe once or twice a day...depending on how I feel. (My need for Tylenol/Advil is pretty much the same this time around as for the original Lasik back in Sept.) My eyes still get strained easily, but this is no different from the last time, and I expect that to resolve in the next 2 weeks or so, as it did after the first procedure.
The only other adverse effect I have is a bit of haze in my left eye. The right eye cleared up with-in 12 hours...but it's still there in the left eye...only noticeable with close-up vision tho...I had this the last time too (left eye)...but by about 3 mo. post-op it was 99.9% cleared up...so I'm not concerned at this point...will just keep up the appointments with my doctor...and so far, he says everything looks great.
Anyhow, so far, so good....I'm glad I did it...and no regrets! But everyone's situation is different...I hope this helps. Good luck with your decision!
:)
