Hi everyone,
I'm 2 weeks (actually 16 days) post-op from having the "new" allegretto wave performed on my eyes. My original eye script was:
OD -1.75 -0.25 x110
OS -1.50 sphere
The procedure went smoothly and I was 20-15 the day after surgery. Sadly, my eyesight has drifted back quite a bit. At my 10 appointment, I was somewhere in the 20-25/30 range, but that doesn't tell the whole story. My eyesight is back to the point where it was post-op, in fact I can see much better when I put on my old eyeglasses.
While I'm very disappointed, I'm not giving up hope yet. I still have a bit of swelling and some minor dry eye issues. I'm hopeful that my sight will creep back to where it was immediately following surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? Better yet, has anyone who's eyes had regressed a couple of weeks after surgery experienced vision improvments as the healing process unfolded?
I'm curious to know whether I should plan on an enhancement or if there is still hope that my eyesight will bounce back. As it stands right now, I feel as though I payed $3000 for absolutely no vision improvement whatsoever. Thanks in advance.

My eyes also regressed after the surgery and I ended up getting glasses 2 months after surgery (lesser prescription than the original). I then had enhancements done on both eyes 5 months after the original surgery. It has now been 6 weeks since the enhancements were done and my eyes have slowly regressed to the point that I can again wear the same glasses. So now I don't know what to do? Does anybody know if you can get a 2nd enhancement?

If you are seeing 20/30 now, this is good vision, in fact you see without glasses as good as I see with glasses(my BCVA!) many surgeons wont enhance if you see well enough not to need glasses, not even for driving. I was wondering the reason you got lasik with a very low -1.5 pescription. My brother is about that bad and my friends are around -1.5 and dont usually wear glasses except to drive or watch movies.
Keep in mind enhancements is more lasik with more risks. Do you want to take another risk when your seeing well enough already not to need glasses?

Wow! I am so surprised. Here in Turkey surgeons dont even bother when you have less or equal to 2 diopters in your eyes. I had 5.50 on left and 450 on right both astigmatism. Had surgery in Feb 15. Right after the lasik both was fine but left had double vision. then it went away and right has regressed. Now it has been 2 months and for last few weeks i have headache which i think because of poor vision on my right.
Left seems over corrected so I see the letters big but skewed. Another thing is that my eyes developed myopia and hypo .... something the other one. i had non of them before surgery. now my eyes have 1.50 ast, and about 1 - 1.25 myopia and hyper one all three of them.
i dunno what to do
