Hi, I had Lasik about 2 years ago. I am 51, so my left eye was
corrected for reading and my right was supposed to be as close
to 20-20 as possible. However, my vision in my right eye is not
as good for distance as it was before surgery. Is it possible to
have an enhancement done to that eye 2 years later? Are there
laser surgeons who specialize in enhancements? Any
recommendations for a doctor in Cary / Raleigh, NC area?

The first step is to have a comprehensive examination to determine the cause of your distance vision degradation in your right eye. You are assuming that your Lasik has regressed, but that may not be the situation. You could be suffering from something as simple as dry eye, or cataracts may be starting to develop. After an exam has determined the problem, it is much easier to find a solution.
To answer your question, enhancement Lasik surgery after several years is normally possible.
If you go to the doctor director of this website (https://asklasikdocs.com/cgi-local/directory.cgi) you will see that there are four doctors in North Carolina who support this website, including Terry Kim, MD at Duke University in Durham and Dean Dornic, MD in Cary.

Anna, sounds like your situation is similar to mine. I;m 45. After 8 1/2 years had the same distance vision problem, had PRK over the Lasik because dr didn't think it was safe to lift flap. What he didn't tell me was that he was taking away my near to mid vision to give me better distance. I've been upset for 30 days....can no longer see inside my purse, cabinets, etc. But by god, I can see a squirrel eat a nut 300 years away! Obviously, I could care less about that. Bottom line, my every day vision has been compromised, reading is a chore (blurry letters), cleaning is a chore(can't see if surfaces are dirty), putting on makeup is now very difficult as I cannot see my face clearly like I did 30 days ago, can't even look in my cabinets anymore, everything is blurry! and my dr says I might not get my near vision back! I now wear a contact to function during the waiting period to have an enhancement. This has been hell. My advice is to keep your near vision and wear glasses when you need to see distance. I wish every day my physician would have been honest with me on what "distance" vision really meant and what I was giving up, I would have RAN fast. (in fact I did get out of the chair just before surgery, this was my gut telling me the outcome wasn't going to be good)Hope this helps you with your decision.
