I had a lasik procedure in Feb. on my left eye. During the procedure I had excessive bleeding. During a post op appt., the doctor said the bleeding occured because I have a small cornea- 10 mm instead of 11mm. This means the flap was cut a bit too large, and it cut over more blood vessels. He also said that more blood vessels from the white of my eye were present in the corneal area, presenting a bleeding problem. The good news is my recovery went fine and I see 20/25. I have been very satisfied and the doctor says under the circumstances I am doing great. The question I have is I am scheduled to have the right eye done and the doctor says I may not be able to have Lasik completed, and the he may end up doing PRK. He says he will try a smaller ring, and it may work. If not, he says due to my small corneal size, and the steepness, and the bleeding episode from the left eye, that PRK may be the best answer. I still don't understand why PRK may be better because my left eye is doing great- and I am concerned about the recovery of a PRK procedure.
