I had both eyes done about three years ago with a not-so-good result and had both enhanced about a year later.

The right eye was fine (20-20) but the left one was still only so-so and I had it done over a third time earlier this year.

The result was not much better but after six weeks I was told I had epithelial cells inside the eye that had to be cleared. The process was done but six weeks later, the cells were back. A second process was done (new doctor) but six weeks later the cells came back again.

At this point, unless the cells remain where they are, something will have to be done. My doctor said he may have to use sutures. At what point does one give up on cleaning and are there any theories as to why it does not work? (Does it mean anything that both my eyes had two procedures without this happening?)

I've read on the bulletin board about the use of either sutures or glue: any reason why one method would be preferred to the other? Is there any reason to believe that yet another cleaning would succeed?

Also, is there a point at which further flap lifts becomes much more problematic?

My doctor says it is very rare to have the cells return like this, although I see from this BB that I do have some company. Is there much any info out there my doctor may not be aware of that could help?
