i have undergone lasik surgery. The left eye was completed superb and vision is 6/5. the right eye there was a complication, the doctor aborted the procedure saying it was an irregualer free cap. I am seeing 6/9 corrected with glasses and can see double and triple images and have high grade astigmatism.

I have taken 2 opinions
1) one doctor has checked me 10 days back ,said is waiting for the cornea to heal and will possibly recommend PRK as that will be a better option and said noticed epithelium ingrowth. I have another follow up appointment this saturday to check my status

2) the second doctor checked me today on the slit lamp and topography machine. Said has noticed epithilium ingrowth between the flap. Said that would required to be washed and cleaned. Then would need to allow to heal, and would require almost 10 months to see what we need to do for correction a possible lasik. He also mentioned that according to him it was not a free flap. I was an incomplete flap. When i questioned whether that flap was disected when it came out. he said it was something like that.

I have also consulted the original doctor who had performed the surgery, who mention it was nothing like that and that nothing disected was visible under slit lamp.

I am very concerned with such opinions and do not know what to do.

a)Will i get vision in my right eye which is as good as before.
b)Should i be getting the epithelium cleaned and are there chances i may lose any further vision in this procedure.
c)Is it painful to remove epithilium ingrowth
d)Are there chances of this epithilium ingrowth
to reoccur if does then what happens next.

Please help,
I am scared i may lose my vision.
Thanks and regards
Kunnal.
