I had PRK four years ago. The initial (daytime) results were fairly good. I had some nightime problems with glare, starbursts, etc., but was told that it was normal and would go away. Well, it never went away. I found out the the surgeon had forgotten to measure my dilated pupil size. It turns out that my pupils are about 7.5mm and the treatment zone he used was between 5.5 and 6.0mm.

At the time I was training to be a Navy pilot. I continued as long as possible, but it eventually became obvious that I would have a very difficult time landing on an aircraft carrier at night, so I was grounded. They Navy spent about a year trying to find a fix for my problem, but to no avail. Glasses, soft contacts, and RGP's have not helped enough to get me back flying. Alphagan P works, but is not allowed by the Navy (or the FAA, for that matter).

My only hope of ever flying again is to find a doctor who can retreat my eyes.

Anyone who can help, please respond.

If your problem really is a too small treatment zone, consult Dan Durrie in KC. He's well versed in treating complicated cases. There's no reason you should have to suffer simply from a too small treatment zone.

Of course, there's always a little glare from refractive surgery, so its a little hard to tell which is caused by what.
