Hello:
It's been about 6 months since I've had intralase. Before the surgery, I had significant myopia (-9 rt, -9.5 lft) and large pupils, which made my risk for permanent halos higher than the average person's. But of course, the Dr. didn't sound the least bit worried, reassuring me that thin prescription glasses for night vision/driving would solve the problem. Since the surgery, my vision has been about 20/40 in each eye, which I'm satisfied with. My only concern has been at night. The halos are still there, and I'm having trouble with seeing very short distances, especially when I'm driving. Glasses don't help, and this problem has made me really apprehensive about driving at night. I know that there are eye drops and contact lenses that can help the halos, but what about depth perception and distances at night? And since it's been about half a year, is it safe to assume my complications are permanent? I plan on making an appointment with my Dr., but would still appreciate any comments. Thanks for your help!

with your big pupils and (very) high myopia, you would have "effects" at night such as halos(most common) starbursts, glare, ghosting, poor contrast, etc. There is alphagan P but only use for emergencies because with regular use it loses effecientness and the rebound effect will make your pupils even bigger for a long time. There is contacts that can block off all but a small central potion of the pupil but they may not fit right and be uncomfortable due to your new lasik eyes. What is your pescription now that you are 20/40?

I believe my prescription now is -.50 rt and -1 lft. Are these night-time effects most likely permanent because it's been some time since I've had the surgery? Thanks for your suggestions!
