I just returned from my 6 month post-lasik exam and my doctor (actually my surgeon's partner) gave me some rather odd information. I have ghosting and starbursts in dim light and at night and the doctor told me it's because blue eyes 'notice' the treatment zone more than darker colored eyes. I know blue eyes are more sensitive to light but I've never heard that they have more night vision problems. Is this true? She also told me that my pupils will not dialate as much as I age (I'm 40 now) and that this should help my night vision problems as well. She didn't mention drops to restrict the dialation or any other possible solution (besides the natural aging process)
I like my surgeon but his partner always seems anxious to get me in and out as quick as possible which has given me problems in the past. When I press for information she gives me either half answers or answers that I question (like the one above).
She has done all of my follow-up care (except the 1 day post-op) Am I just being moved along the lasik assembly process? I see okay in the day (20/20) and am still slightly over-corrected but the ghosting/starbursts is bothersome at times. Is it because of my blue eyes?

I'm 40 years old and 6 months post lasik. My dialated pupil size is 7mm. I'm currently having ghosting and starbursts at night (not debilitating but bothersome) I want to verify what my surgeons partner told me.
Are blue eyes more susceptible to night time problems like ghosting and starbursting?
Is waiting for the natural aging process to naturally decrease the dialated pupil size an appropriate remedy for ghosting and starbursts?
Thank you.

If you touch a frog you will get warts.
Cats steal a sleeping baby's breath.
Blue eyes are more apt to notice...WHAT?!?!?
-Time for a second opinion. Seriously, you already feel like you're getting shuffled in and out. Get a second opinion now.

You're right. Perhaps I'll call Dr. Lomas as well and mention his partner's behaviour. I've been hesitant because his clinic is fairly well known and respected.
Thanks,
