i recently went to canada to have the lasik surgery performed. dr said he could only get 60% vision for me, because my corneas are too thin. decided not to go this route because i am so nearsighted. (-900) He explained something about lens replacement, and after reading this forum, I am convinced he was talking about intacs. But i just found an eye center here in South Bend that feels he was talking about PRK. They say they can do the PRK. What is the difference, and do you think my new drs. know what they are talking about? Is PRK for thin corneas?

Your doctor was likely not talking about PRK or intacs. First, you would not be a candidate for intacs. You are too nearsighted for that. PRK could be done and that may be a fine option for you. The other option is to remove the lens inside your eye and replace it with an artificial lens like in cataract surgery. See http://www.eugeneeyecare.com and click on "cataract" for more information. Good luck.
