On the advice of my surgeon I have elected to use the ladarvision technology to treat my vision. My doctor informed me that because my astigmatism was somewhat severe, he recommended that I use Ladarvision instead of Nidek. The Ladarvision technology costs double the price of the Nidek laser. He informed me that although he recommended the Ladarvision, ultimately it was my decision. Is the Ladarvision laser the better choice for astigmatism? According to my doctor my vision will be BETTER using Ladarvision. Is his advice trustworthy or am I just being nudged into choosing a laser that will cost be double the price?
I get very good, consistant results with up to 5 diopters of astigmatism using a Nidek EC 5000 laser, but the experience of the surgeon on a given machine also makes a difference.
