My prescription is
OD pl -4.00 2
OS -.75 -3.50 163

pupil dilation = 7
corneal thickness is 510 and 520

I went to a clinic yesterday in Toronto and they recommend lasik with the Allegretto Wave Laser.
He said that with my script it will separate the boys from the men. He said that my script is exciting and one that they like to challenge.
Although he also told me that I would get amazing results, without any complication (halo, glare or corneal problems). He told me that PRK was not an option when I questioned my corneal thickness. This clinic is probably rated the best in Toronto. He told me that the Allegretto is better technology than the B & L 217 handsdown.

There is another clinic in Vancouver Canada that use the B & L 217 Laser. Although the doctor has not seen me, he thinks that PRK or Lasik would be good for me with great results. I am heading out to Vancouver next week and I will be out there on a monthly basis pretty much.

There is definately a price difference with the two places:
Toronto is 5000.00
Vancouver is 2000.00

The clinic in Toronto said that anyone can buy old technology for cheap and charge less. To keep up with better and new technology you have to charge more.

The clinic in Vancouver said that they have low prices cause they don't pay everyone off, there is only one doctor and they feel that anyone should have a chance for this surgery.
He is very happy with the B & L for best results. But is the B & L best for my script and eye perameters?

The final question is Lasik vs. PRK

Dear David,
After working on different lasers and being offered other lasers [B& L Zyoptix included], we went ahead with the Wavelight wavefront 400 Hz laser because of its superior technology. Most lasers are retrofitted for wavefront or to simply put upgraded whilst this laser has been developed for wavefront from scratch. The detailed research in the laser system took into account the needs of the surgeon, patient as well as looked after the many drawbacks of the other laser systems.

Although the Wavelight Allegretto 200 Hz is the machine that USA and Canada is using and we have moved ahead to the 400 Hz, it is a superb machine.
You can check more on the laser in the following link http://www.perfectwavelasik.com/otown.asp
