I am considering LASIK with an outfit in Spokane. I found out that the laser equipment they use rotates between a few facilities they use. Is there any problems that can be associated with this type of practice. The surgeons seem to have plenty of experience.

I believe that this is more common than patients think. I just had mine eyes done in Mississippi and there are no fixed lasers in the state apparently.

The fact that the laser is moved is usually not very important. The laser is calibrated after being setup, and needs to be recalibrated every few patients anyway.
What is the greater concern is the experience of the surgeon. It is common for doctors who use the "Roll-On, Roll-Off" lasers to have less practical experience due to the lack of demand in a smaller area. Focus on the qualites of the surgeon, rather than the mobility of the laser. I recommend using our 50 Tough Questions For Your Doctor at http://www.usaeyes.org/faq/tough_questions.htm

If I were you I would certainly research laser risks and complications very closely. I had lasik to both eye June 2004 and had disastrous results. My vision is worse, I do no sleep, had to quit my job. Just remember that lasik is a very dangerous, risky, major, major surgery to your eyes. You only have one pair of eyes and once the cut is made there is no turning back. Even the most well known surgeons have had patients that have either gone blind, have halos and night vision is a major problems, but will not admit to their patients. Do not ruin your corneas. I wish I had kept my common sense and glasses. Why take a risk with something so important as your eyes. I wish I had researched instead of trusting my doctor completely. Remember some people ill do anything for money!
