I had Lasik on 4/1/04. My vison in both eyes were -10. About two days after the surgery I am seeing 20/25 in my right eye and 20/30 in my left eye. My major concern is the haze. I still have a very cloudy/hazy vision at all times. It is extremely difficult to work. Will this clear in time??? And is it possible for my right eye to belcome 20/25?????

I’m sorry to hear of your difficulties.

It is certainly possible that your uncorrected vision will stay at the 20/25 and 20/30 vision you have today, but probability that you will be able to see 20/20 without glasses can be indicated by the answer to this question: Are you able to see 20/20 clearly with corrective lenses? If yes, your problem is simply refractive error. Refractive error may be able to be corrected with enhancement surgery, may be caused by temporary swelling in the cornea due to the surgery, may be caused by regression, or may be caused by planned overcorrection to compensate for regression.

It is way too early in the healing process for you to become too worried. LASIK is more of a six month process than a 20-Minute Miracle. Being a very high myope (nearsighted), you will undoubtedly have a longer healing time, and don’t be surprised if you need an enhancement. Report all your problems (and successes) to your doctor, but don't panic just yet. There will be plenty of time for panic later. 8^)

I recommend that you ask your doctor for a dry eye test and a new prescription. These will help determine where you are, and what might be causing some of your vision quality problems.
