The question is not, "Can you have LASIK?" The question is really, "Should you have LASIK?"

Although it is technically possible to have LASIK with such a high amount of myopia, there are many, many issues from corneal thickness to size of your pupils that need to be evaluated and considered. Even if you meet the criteria, LASIK still may not be advisable. Predictability is much more difficult with larger refractive error. Regression is all but assured, with subsequent retreatment. If you are near or past age 40, Clear Lens Replacement (CLR) may be a more appropriate option. Possibly even the upcoming Phakic Intraocular Lenses (P-IOL). It might be that there simply isn’t a surgery that can resolve your high myopia.

My suggestion would be to select a potential surgeon carefully and be evaluated now. Take your time with the decision, do your research, then do what you believe to be best for your individual circumstances.

if your corneas are thick enough you could go for mono vision, fully correct your -8 and partially correct your -13. If you dont like that, you can wear one contact lense or glasses with 1 lense
