I am severely myopic with a -9.5 (+/- .5) in each eye with an average PAC measurement of 575 in each eye. My surgeon has given me the potential list of complications which one could be affected by with both Lasik and Lasek procedures, and has left the decision up to me. Any recommmendations, statistics, etc. would be much appreciated. I am extremely active athletically, and I certainly wish to avoid any potential for flap complications, but the possibility of a corneal haze is equally worrisome. I plan of taking Vitamin C and using complete UV protection.

Is there a reason your doctor has not added phakic intraocular lenses (P-IOL) as a possibility? Visit http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik-visian-verisyse-icl-p-iol.htm
