Hello,
I will be starting my first IVF treatments in August after years of unsuccessful IUI treatments, and also have my first LASIK appointment then.
I will be using various hormones to stop menstruation and then high doses of progesterone and was wondering if that will have an effect on LASIK results.
The chances of pregnancy are only 25 % so should I go ahead with the LASIK or wait to see if the IVF fails then do LASIK in September? Will those hormones etc. still be in my system in September or can I just do the LASIK then, when I know I am not pregnant ( or am if I am lucky! )?
Thanks

The hormonal changes that will occur with your treatment, during pregnancy, and for several weeks after ending lactation, can affect your vision dramatically. Your vision will return to normal after the end of the hormonal changes, whether that be because of cessation of the meds or after you become pregnant, give birth, and stop lactating.
Do not have any refractive surgery during this time. Your vision will be temporarily changed, but changes made with Lasik surgery will be permanent. Although there should not be any direct contraindication issues, if something goes wrong with Lasik, you dont want to have medical and surgical responses limited because of the pregnancy or attempts at pregnancy.
Wait until you have finished the pregnancy attempt process (and hopefully the pregnancy) before having Lasik.
