Lasik is totally elective. You are not required to have it this Saturday or next. You should only have it when you are absolutely ready and certain it is what you want.
You need to understand the potential risks with your unique situation before making a decision about surgery. After you talk with the surgeon and after you have taken some time to think about if what you can reasonably expect is what you want, and then make your decision.
I recommend that you visit 2-3 different surgeons and compare their opinions. Don't expect them to be identical, but there should be a general consensus on what is recommended.
The most you can expect from refractive surgery is the convenience of a reduced need for corrective lenses. To achieve that convenience, you must accept some risk. It appears that you really don't have the information necessary to fully understand the risk in your situation. Slow down and make an informed decision.
