A knowledgeable surgeon will make adjustments necessary to be certain that all equipment is appropriated calibrated throughout the day, so there should be no difference in the operating suite.
It may make a difference for your preferences. If you are nervous, you may want to take a valium (ask the doctor) the night before, one in the morning, and get to the doctors office in the morning.
If you want to just rest and relax after surgery, afternoon seems to make more sense for common sleeping patterns.
Morning or afternoon should probably be decided on what is most convenient for you.
