Do you guys/gays think I would be a good canditate for LASIK? If not LASIK, what other option would I have?
To start off with, I'm blind as a bat. I'm 37 years old, and I've been wearing glasses since I was 10. I've also been wearing contacts since I was 17, and I do have a stigmatism. My prescription hasn't changed in over 10 years. My current contact prescrition is Optifit 8.6 / 14.5:

Right -6.75 -1.75 65
Left -7.25 -0.75 115

Can someone give me their advice?

If you can still tolerate contacts, keep wearing them. Youd need to see an ophthamologist to determine if your a candidate. Mention IOLs as a possible option. Read about the risks of lasik. Is your desire to reduce your dependancy on glasses worth the risks of lasik? You will need reading glasses unless you opt for monovision or undercorrection.

You are within the treatable range for refractive surgery. Depending on your exact physiology, Lasik or IntraLasik may be best or something else may be most appropriate. If you are over age 50-60, Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) may be a better alternative.

What you need is a comprehensive examination by a competent doctor. Then and only then can this question be answered.
