I have had two consultations for LASIK. The first one said I was a good candidate for 1 or 2 types of refractive surgery. The second one said I was only a candidate for PRK because of thin corneas. I don't know who to believe.
My myopia measures -6.25 in the right eye and -6.50 in the left. I do have lots of astigmatism, but neither place gave me the number.
Regarding the thickness of my corneas, the one recommending PRK said that the FDA allows down to 250 microns, but I would only have 290-295 left after LASIK. He said after PRK I would have 400-420 left.
As I said, I don't know who to believe. The one recommending LASIK said he would never do PRK on someone with the amount of myopia I have. The other said he would never do LASIK.
Should I just plan on wearing contacts/glasses the rest of my life?
Thank you for your time!
