I am scheduled for a prelim appointment next week and hopefully find that I am a candidate for the Lasik surgery that will take place on June 1.
I take naproxen(anti-inflammatory)for a temporary back issue.
I occasionally take Immitrex for migraines.
I can stop any and all of these if they will hamper my efforts at Lasik.
Also I am a smoker and don't know whether or not to stop for surgery due to conflicting information.
a)The surgery date cannot be changed so I can't stop smoking and then have the surgery in two months.
b)I could stop smoking now but that only leaves a few days before the prelim appt and less than a couple weeks before the surgery.
c)I have read that a smoker should stop 8-10 weeks before surgery to have the most beneficial effect but since that is not possible, I don't know if would make things worse to stop now, something I read said that in some cases it could make matters worse to stop just before surgery.
Thanks
