Hi All - I am new to this site. I stumbled across this site this week and I couldn't be happier. I am scheduled to go in for my Lasik surgery tomorrow. I live in Toronto Canada and am going to "Lasik Md" for my surgery. My prescription is as follows:
OD -3.75
OS - 5.00
I have an astigmatism of -.75 in my right eye only. I asked my optomitrist for some old prescriptions and he gave me some dating by to 2002. It shows that in the past 4 years my eyesite as flucuated slightly, maybe .25 or .50 of a diopters in both eyes.
My questions are:
1) Is that change in my script considered significant?
2) Based on my prescription above, do you think I can achieve 20/20 or at least 20/40? They said they are quite confident they can achieve 20/20 but they also want my $.
3) I have the option of getting some sort of coverage incase I require an enhancement. Do the majority of you get this? I was told there's a 10% chance that my eyes could regress within the first 6 months - healing period.
4) How much regression needs to occur before one is eligible for an enhancement?
Thanks so much for any information you can provide. I am very excited about my surgery tomorrow and am hoping for the best.

Theres a chance of 20/20 and a great chance of 20/40. Enhancements are rarely done if you are better than 20/40. Remember, lasik reduces dependancy on glasses. You may still need or want to wear glasses for stuff like driving or reading.

Hi Sam,
I am 5 days post op and I am feeling fairly good. Aside from typical "dry eye" I developed a very mild case of DLK in one eye about 1 day following surgery. I am not sure how or why this happened but nobody seems to know. I doubt very much it had anything to do with Lasik MD. The surgeon and staff are all top notch and the environment is very sterile. I'd would definitely recommend them. I was able to see 20/20 and 20/15 the day following surgery. I hear the Montreal location is excellent. Good luck and let me know how it goes if you decide to go with LMD :)
