Hi, I am considering having this procedure done with a doctor who performs "bladeless epi-LASIK." I am under the impression that this isn't widely used. What are the pros/cons of this procedure compared to ordinary LASIK? Thanks!

A primary advantage of Epi-Lasik is that the removal of corneal tissue occurs on the surface of the cornea, rather than underneath of flap of tissue as in Lasik or IntraLasik. We have a detailed article about Epi-Lasik on our website. Visit http://www.USAEyes.org and click on | Considerations | Which Surgery For You? | Epi-Lasik |
