I posted the last question in this forum and am happy to report that now, two months post LASIK, I am able to read the computer screen and most printed material without glasses if the light is sufficiently bright. My distance vision was tested to be around 20/30 at my one month exam and I feel my expectations have been met from the surgery.
I am, however, interested in getting progressive lenses to have clearer midrange vision. When I am at store, for example, everything around within 3-15 feet seems blurry and I also have trouble reading menus that are posted on the wall at fast-food restaurants so I'm wondering if getting progressive lenses will help. I also need to have my distance eye corrected to read sheet music so I have a pair of glasses for that purpose, but of course, it makes me unable to see distance, such as looking at the music conductor.
I guess what I'm wondering is if I can get all my problems corrected with one pair of glasses or will I need to always carry 2 or more pair around?
Also if I wear progressives regularly, will I lose the benefit of monovision because my eyes will not focus properly? I notice if I read too long, it seems like my right eye is "competing" with my left eye for dominance and the print is blurry.
Thanks for your help.
