I had lasik 6 years ago and have been very pleased - haven't had 20/20 vision since I was 5 years old. Now at 45 years old I can't read without cheaters and find them to be quite a hassle - especially at work. I've got a monovision contact (+1.75) to wear in one eye. Been trying it for several days and my brain must be slow because I'm having a tough time adjusting. Are there any tricks, exercises, things I can do to help speed the adjustment along? What I am experiencing is blurred vision and it reminds me of back when a lens would fall out of my glasses. I REALLY want this to work and would love some advise and tips to make it so.

Ive tried monovision too and hated it. I was seeing blurry in one eye at all times. If you do alot of near work, maybe try a +1.75 contact in BOTH eyes. What you can do is drive to work then insert your contacts at work so you can see clear when reading. Remove your contacts after work then drive home. It may sound silly but its worth a try? Let me know

You might try a bit less of a difference, say a +1.00 or +1.25 contact. When I first tried monovision, the differnce between my two eyes was too great, and I couldn't adjust to it at all. When I went with the difference of about 1 Diopter between eyes, it was much better. The correction is enough that I can read menus, prices, and quick articles; however, if I do want to sit down and read for a long time, or if the light is low, then I use a pair of +1 readers. I liked the contact trial so much, I went ahead and had an ehnancement on just my dominant eye after regressing to 20/40 in both eyes after my original lasik. So now, one eye is 20/40 and the other about 20/20. Overall distance is 20/25.
Hope this helps....
