I had given up hope of having refractive surgery after having been evaluated several years ago and being told my pupils were too large and corneas too thin(480) with my degree of myopia
(-7.5 both eyes.)
Last week I visited my optometrist who surprised me when she told me that I should be able to get PRK or Lasek surgery.
I still think I am at the outer range of eligibility for these surgeries but am thinking of going in for a consult. I'm barely able to wear contact lenses any longer due to intolerance and despise wearing my glasses.
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!

Lasik is definately out due to your thin corneas. You might be able to get prk but your at very high risk of losing your ability to see clearly at night due to your huge pupils. Your dry eyes are also additional risk. I wont tell you if you should get lasik or not but to think long and hard about the risks. How much do you hate glasses(and contacts) whats your expectations reguarding PRK? How much are you willing to risk to reduce your dependancy on glasses(may need thinner glasses or readers)
